2015 Community Raffle - Update - $3,500 banked

Please note the extra dates in the lead up to Christmas, New Year ad Australia Day - if required.  If you are around and can help out, that would be great.  If we can't fill the roster, we can just let Dan Murphy's know.

Total Banked

From sales at Safeway, Show, K-mart and Dan Murphys, along with the tickets sales returned from members, we have banked approximately $3,500

Books issued to Rotarians - Aim for 8th December please!

Please return the stubs and money for tickets sold as soon as possible.  It is too easy to put them aside and forget.
If you would like more tickets it can be easily arranged!

Roster for the next three weeks

Thanks to the volunteers to date.  As you can see there are still vacancies.
Sales have been steady at all venues and every little bit helps!
If you can't make your shift, it is greatly appreciated if we know and if you can arrange a swap.  Happy to help if you need it.  Phone numbers are included to help you let your partner know.
If there is one name on the table below, partners are required.
Can you help? Especially Thursday 26 - Saturday 28th November,

Our Evening’s Program
Members met in their Service Committee at various locations.

Melbourne Cup Eve meeting - Past President Tony Alsop reports.....
The combined meeting with Geelong Central was attended by five Geelong East members who enjoyed a fun night that helped raise funds for Habitat for Humanity, a project that is building homes for those who can't, for some reason, have a home, and Geelong High School Music Program to help buy a grand piano.

A chained and pad locked treasure chest could be unlocked if you purchased for a small fee the correct key. A lucky wheel spun with prizes to be won. Trivia questions were asked with some memory brain cells being tested. A silent auction of many items was also ran with an emphasis on wine, beer & cider which seems to appeal to Rotarians. A raffle was also drawn for the owner, trainer and jockey of all the horses in the Melbourne Cup. Three lucky people had a chance to win with the first horse across the line. President Andrew managed an owner and a jockey but his horse may still be running.

The Thomson Footy Club dining room was packed with people and everyone had a good time with winners have a better time and hopefully plenty of funds were raised as well for two very worthwhile projects.

Mentoring Project
Regarding the mentoring project for the tradies which is a substantial Vocational service project in Geelong, Warren is inviting members who would like to act as mentors or who know of tradies  who would benefit from the project to make contact with him.

Annual General Meeting - 17 November
This is when you can propose and when your motions get the better of you...sounds like a cross between Valentine's Day and a mild case of Bali Belly!
Think about taking a role in the Club. With Rotary as with much else in life - we get more out by being more in.

Attendance
Those members who have a make up in place of attendance at the Rotary Club of Geelong Central Melbourne Cup eve meeting, please give details to Satbir for the Club's attendance records.
Committee chairs are asked to reported last week's Committee meeting attendance to Satbir.
