Please return the stubs and money for tickets sold as soon as possible. It is too easy to put them aside and forget.

Roster for the next three weeks
Thanks to the volunteers to date. As you can see there are still vacancies. Saturday afternoon at Safeway Newcomb and Thursday next week are in need of support!
Sales have been steady at all venues and every little bit helps!
Our chair for the evening was Past President Warren Norton and we welcomed District Governor Jane, Assistant Governor Ross, partners, friends and guests to our special Rotary Foundation Sapphire Night.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of sapphires to mark the contributions by Rotarians to The Rotary Foundation.
Chris Adam received a sapphire and acknowledged the community service contribution of his father by a Paul Harris Fellow Recognition.
Tony Alsop, Alan Backwell, Anna Fletcher and George James were congratulated on their achievement of, in Tony’s case, a second sapphire, in Alan’s case a first sapphire and likewise with Anna and in George’s case a second sapphire.
John Birrell received a second sapphire and honoured David Lear of the East Geelong Uniting Church with a Paul Harris Fellow Recognition.
Graeme Fleet received his third sapphire and recognised his wife Lyn for her contribution and, in Frank Pinder’s case, his second sapphire saw him acknowledging the work in overseas aid for children of his granddaughter Olivia.
Michael Carroll and Bill Pratt both received their first sapphire and David Sikes in receiving his fifth sapphire acknowledged his wife Liz.
Andrew Thornton’s third sapphire was an opportunity for recognition of the great work done in our Club by Sue Dunlop.
Jonathan Hepner’s fifth sapphire marked the great support which he gives personally to the Rotary Foundation.
In total, the awards and recognitions signify $29,000.00 in donations to the great work of the Rotary Foundation.
President Andrew then introduced District Governor Jane who spoke on the work of Rotary in our District in all the various service areas and encouraged members to consider attending the RI Convention in May next year in Seoul, South Korea.
District Governor Jane also encouraged members to attend the District Conference between the 18 and 20 March next year at the Geelong Waterfront and President Andrew received the float which when presented at the Conference will perhaps signify the buoyancy of our Club (?).
Ballarat South Raffle Ticket Sales
Members are encouraged to take up the opportunities for selling tickets at our venues around Geelong. Sue Dunlop is handling the roster and can put you in front of some eager buyers at a time and place to suit.
We thank Sue and James for their tireless efforts on this project.
Mentoring Project
Regarding the mentoring project for the tradies which is a substantial Vocational service project in Geelong, Warren is inviting members who would like to act as mentors or who know of tradies who would benefit from the project to make contact with him.
Committee Meetings on 10 November are Out Off Site!
There is no meeting of the Club this evening 10 November. Instead, members will be taking part in Service Committee meetings at a venue and time to be notified by the Committee chairs. Contact your Committee chair for the details.
Annual General Meeting - 17 November
This is when you can propose and when your motions get the better of you...sounds like a cross between Valentine's Day and a mild case of Bali Belly!
Think about taking a role in the Club. With Rotary as with much else in life - we get more out by being more in.

Burgers Bring Home The Bacon
Adrian Innes reported that on takings exceeding $25,000.00 from the Geelong Show hamburger stand, we turned a profit of around $14,000.00 as well as having some donations of produce available to the Rotaractors’ school breakfast program.
Once again, our thanks to Adrian, John and all those members, partners, friends and the team at Bendigo Bank for making it another great charitable fund raising success.
