Stories

We were hosted by the Rotaract Club of Barwon at the East Geelong Uniting Church who provided an excellent soup and mains meal which we enjoyed very much. President Chloe provided an update of activities undertaken by the Rotaract Club of Barwon with the changeover first up (2 July at Scooby Sues in Ryrie Street to which all Rotarians are welcome) when incoming president Liz Fagan takes over. There are 4 new members in the wings, the breakfast club is very active as is the birthing kit project and the Rotaractors raised $800.00 from their May activity. The Rotaractors expressed their thanks to John Birrell for his consistent support and assistance. With the financial assistance of our Club, three members of the Rotaract Club attended the training weekend. Chris as incoming treasurer, Liz as incoming president and Stef as incoming vice president spoke about the sessions they attended including recruiting and retaining members, the public relations process and international service activities. Our Club donated $675.00 raised from the evening to the Rotaractors who will use it support their breakfast club activity.

Your Club Tasks for the New Rotary Year

President Elect Andrew is circulating the draft Committees and Roles for the 2015-16 Rotary year for our comment.

Eddification: Changes In Fellowship Membership Qualifications

The Board of Rotary International, at its June 2015 meeting in Brazil, has expanded membership eligibility in Rotary Fellowships (such as RGHF) to include family members of Rotarians (not just spouses) as well as anyone who has ever participated in a Rotary or Foundation program.
This broader category includes Rotaractors as well as participants and alumni of all other Rotary and Foundation programs, past and present, including (but not limited to):  Interact, Rotaract, Rotary Youth Exchange, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), Rotary Peace Fellowships, Global Grant Scholarships, Vocational training teams (members and leaders), District Grant scholarships, New Generations Service Exchange, Rotary Foundation awards to individuals in former TRF programs, such as: Ambassadorial Scholarships, Grants for University Teachers, Group Study Exchange, Rotary Volunteers.
Invite your friends, in these new categories, to join RGHF now at www.joinrghf.org.

Best Wishes to Stan

We all send our best wishes to Stan Deans who is on the mend after some hospital time.
