Eddification – End Polio
On 23 October, Rotary kicked off World Polio Day celebrations with a special event that will shine a light on Rotary’s leadership in the fight to end polio. (See previous article on live broadcast from New York and invitation to vist endpolio.org
You can continue to support the fight against polio after World Polio Day through Miles to End Polio. On 21 November, General Secretary John Hewko and a team of Rotary staff will join Rotary members from Arizona and around the world in El Tour de Tucson to raise funds for polio eradication. Their current fundraising goal is $10 million.
Districts can help reach this goal with a special Miles to End Polio DDF donation. The district that contributes the most will receive a visit from President-elect John Germ. To donate DDF, please
complete and return this form by 30 November. Personal contributions can also be made.
Now that Nigeria has stopped polio, we are one step closer to a polio-free world. But our fight isn’t over. There’s still work to be done in Afghanistan and Pakistan, the two remaining polio-endemic countries.
Donate today and your donation will be matched 2-to-1 by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
With your help, we are “this much closer” to ending polio.
