On behalf of the Barwon Area Integrated Family Violence Committee and our partner organisations, please find attached a Certificate of Appreciate to acknowledge the work of the amazing Rotary Volunteers that supported the ‘Our Stories For Change’ Art Exhibition.
Through the support of Rotary Volunteers, the travelling exhibition was able to be shown— and the messages shared —with members of the community in Geelong, Colac and Drysdale.
Drawing on the lived experience of women in our local community impacted by sexual and family violence, this exhibition highlighted the journey towards recovery from violence through creatively expressing concepts such as respect, independence, power, control, and cultural rules around femininity and masculinity through art.
Some of the volunteer activities that Annette has undertaken include attending planning meetings for a committee and a sub-committee, collating the volunteer roster for Rotarian Volunteers to ‘gallery sit’ at Deakin Waterfront gallery, as well as participating as a ‘gallery sitter’ on multiple occasions and transporting artworks from Geelong to Colac.
